BotFA Alternate Outcome - Part II

A faint movement of Kili’s eyelids and a barely audible whimper made Fili gasp in relief.

“Kili?” he asked, hoping his little brother was about to regain consciousness. He didn’t wake, but it was enough to break the thick walls of despair that had started to close around Fili. His brother was alive, there was still a chance to save him.

Though the short moment of relief fled fast as Fili’s ears caught the sound of crunching snow behind him.

He froze. Something was not right.

And all of a sudden he became aware that it was too quiet. The sound of clashing blades when his uncle had fought Azog was gone, the only remaining sound the nearing footsteps. And somehow Fili could tell that those were not his uncle’s…

Fili’s breath caught in his throat. He knew what he would face when he turned around.

And when he slowly dared to move his head to look behind, a pair of cold blue eyes stared right back at him…

So this is the second part of a little thingy I started as an alternate outcome of BotFA.

I’m not sure if I like what I wrote under the picture though (English is not my first language). But I hope you could enjoy the picture. I actually like that one with Fili and Kili pretty much! ^-^

I really tried to catch the tension in the atmosphere when Fili slowly turns around and sees Azog standing behind him. That moment when you already know what awaits you and are afraid to turn around to actually see it. The moment when you have to fight your fears and be brave to face them.  

I hope I did somehow manage to depict that inner fight and horror in Fili at least a little bit.

Oh, and Azog was very hard to draw. I guess you can tell because he did not end up very good. ^^’  

There will be at least one more part, probably two. The next one will probably be up next weekend.
