“Kili!” Fili’s legs gave out under him as he reached the motionlessly body on the frozen ground.

Kili did not respond as Fili lifted the limp form of his little brother into his arms.

“Kili, don’t do this! Wake up please…”, Fili pleaded, looking into the still face, just as white like the fresh fallen snow around them. His cold shaking fingers wandered to Kili’s neck in hope to find the soft throbbing beneath the skin that would tell him his brother was still alive.

But he could not feel it. He could not feel anything at all for his limbs had long gone numb because of the cold. Nor did he hear the footsteps nearing slowly from behind.

Thorin watched in horror as the white orc approached his unaware nephews.

He wanted to warn them of the danger, tried to scream at Fili to take his brother and run but ended up coughing blood with nothing but hoarse whispered words coming out of his mouth.

Everything in him screamed for him to get up and intervene, to stop what was about to happen but his wounded body would not obey him any longer. His sword lay out of reach. His legs wouldn’t carry him anymore. There was nothing he could do.

Trapped on the ground, not able to move he was forced to watch helplessly as the murderer of his grandfather was about to kill his family in front of his eyes...

So, I’m finally back with another Hobbit fanart! ^^

This can be seen as part 1 of maybe some kind of a little story thingie? I don’t know how I should call it really. XD It’s not really a comic, though I tried again to write a little bit in fanfiction-style to describe what happens here.
I had this idea sketched a bit differently last year but did not really like it, now I picked it up again just because I felt motivated to do it.

I thought of it as a different outcome of Thorin’s battle against Azog in tBotFA, though there is no specific story behind this scene. I just went with what flashed through my mind and tried to draw it. So basically everyone can think of their own story what happened before this scene. And if anyone feels inspired to write something about it please feel free to do so. ^-^

Next part will probably be up next weekend. It’s already finished but I want to buy a bit more time to do the 3^rd one because I’m not sure yet how I’m gonna do that.
